Anger by Aissatou

Anger is one of the tools
We often use to express our emotions
Uncontrolable anger makes us be bad people
Learn to control your anger

Teach yourself to control your anger.
Anger can make others see you as selfish
With your anger you can become a bad example
Anger is a result of fear
Anger is not love
Anger is killing someone
Learn to control your anger
Teach yourself to control your anger.

Beginning and End by Khairul

Everything that has a beginning
    has an end
I see the end coming
I see the darkness spreading
     People are dying
I am the only one that stands in his way
I must win as the element of life
I reject the evil, poisonous
Very soon he will have the power
To destroy the world
And he won't stop
Until there is nothing left at all
   in this world
Tonight the future of the world
Will be in my power
It will not be all his.

Untitled by Maria

Here I am
School finished and rushing home with my heavy book bag.
It's sunny and hot
I am tired and thirsty with the sunlight hitting my face.
It looks like I am in California
Where my grandpa is home
And roses that smell flow around me.
I am in the Bronx on my block.

Xbox 360 by Vladimir (5-405)

The Red Ring of Death

I love the Xbox 360 so much! For those of you who don't know, it is a video game console. It was developed by a company called Microsoft. I could play Xbox all day and all night. Some people think the PS3 (Play Station 3)  is better but it isn't.

The worst part of the Xbox 360 is the 'ring of death.' This red ring of death is a general error. It happens when the console is over heated or broken. Once I was playing on my uncle's Xbox 360 and it got over heated. The RED RING OF DEATH appeared! We contacted Microsoft but they couldn't do anything about it. Sadly we threw it out. What a waste of money!
I still think that the Xbox 360 is the best video game console. I have over 50 games for it that I like. For example, Halo 4 and Black Ops 2. The Xbox 360 also has way better graphics than that PS3.

Medieval Times by Moraima (5-405)

The best school trip I ever went on was to Medieval Times. In November all students who got a level 4 on the state math exam went to this amazing place in New Jersey. We enjoyed watching knights riding on horses. Each location looks like an 11th century castle. When it was time to eat...guess what? There were no knives, forks or spoons. We used our hands just like they did in medieval times. They served us garlic bread, chicken, corn, a baked potato and a warm, soft chocolate chip cookie. To be honest the food wasn't that good. I enjoyed the cookies and garlic bread the most. We drank Pepsi in large goblets. The staff told us not to bang the plate and the cup because the horses would get scared. We were eating while watching the knights in a tournament. The knights were fighting to win by knocking the opponent off the horse. When a knight won he received a rose from a princess. There was also a king and queen. We also saw archery and a man with a hawk.
Medieval Times also has locations in Orlando, FL, Atlanta, GA, Chicago and in Canada. I would recommend visiting this theme park if you want to go back in time and watch the amazing tournaments while enjoying the food and drinking soda. But first you need to study hard for the state exams to get a level 4! Good luck!        medievaltimes.com

Fordham Road Forever by Destiny (5-405)

East Fordham Road

As you know there are many people who go to Fordham Road in our neighborhood. It is the main place people go to buy everything from clothes and shoes to cleaning materials and jewelry. Fordham Road is a major street that is crowded everyday. It runs from Harlem River to the Bronx Park. Fordham Road is divided by the Grand Concourse into east and west.
Kingsbridge Subway station on Fordham Road.
Fordham Road has many stores such as Jimmy Jazz for shoes and clothes for boys, Foot Locker for sneakers, Cookies for school uniforms, etc. If you get hungry after all that shopping you can go to a pizza place. If you like fast food, head to Burger King or Mc.Donald's. You can buy a new cell phone on your way to Staples. This is a great place to buy school supplies. Fordham Road also has 99 cent stores where you can buy everything.
On a Saturday, it is extremely crowded with screaming babies, moms talking on the phone, guys yelling 'FREE CELL PHONE!!", food vendors on corners selling churros or bags of peanuts.
Fordham Road is like a dream come true. It is convenient and hectic but I love it!

Does this animal REALLY exist? Rachel (5-405)

A duck-billed koala
One day in science club with Mr. Arroyo I was looking for an animal to research. I came across this photograph of a duck-billed koala. It was on the endangered species list. I thought it was an interesting animal but when I tried to find information about it, all I could find was information about the platypus. The plural for platypus is 'platypie.' Bet you didn't know that!
I kind of felt disappointed and began to think that it was fake. The duck-billed koala didn't exist. Someone decided to take the head of a duck and place it on the body of a koala. I realized that the eyes don't look like a koala's eyes but duck eyes.

Sometimes the internet can fool you! Not everything is what it seems! Do you think this animal is real?

The Beautiful Bronx Zoo by Esai (5-404)

The Bronx Zoo is located at 183rd street. It is near Fordham University. The Bronx Zoo first opened in 1899 so it is really old. The Bronx Zoo has lions, cheetahs, snakes, spiders, elephants, and bears.
There are species that the Bronx Zoo protects. They are Scorpions, toads, and stag beetles. It also has pandas, giraffes, and monkeys, too. The first director of the Bronx Zoo was William Temple Horn.
If you want to learn about land animals the Bronx Zoo is the place to go! The Bronx Zoo is really cool! If you want to see really cool tigers and gorillas, come to the Bronx Zoo!
Oh! I almost forgot something! There are two cool exhibits. One is just tigers and the other is for gorillas. If you want to see these great animals, come to the Bronx Zoo.
